Today’s selection is a pretty good description of how today has gone here at the house. It’s late afternoon, and I’m only now getting this post done.
Our 12-year-old son wants to go watch the big Wrestlemania show at his friend’s house in an hour, but getting him to finish his homework, set out clothes for school and take out the garbage and recycling before he leaves has taken him much of the afternoon.
Just too much monkey business.
It’s one of my favorite Chuck Berry songs, done first in 1957 and covered here by the great Sleepy LaBeef. (Did you know it’s also been covered by the Hollies, the Yardbirds, the Kinks in addition to Elvis? Neither did I.)
“Too Much Monkey Business,” Sleepy LaBeef, from “Tomorrow Never Comes,” 2000.
