Sleepy Sunday, Vol. 11

We started Sleepy Sundays with a selection from one of the greatest live albums I’ve ever heard — Sleepy LaBeef’s “Nothin’ But The Truth.”

It’s time for another cut. Otis Blackwell wrote it. Jerry Lee Lewis covered it, as did Van Morrison, Dave Edmunds and the Smithereens.

So did Sleepy LaBeef, American treasure, during his show at Harper’s Ferry in Allston, Massachusetts, on Oct. 20, 1985. So here, from that Sunday night show, is something that really cooks …

“Let’s Talk About Us,” Sleepy LaBeef, from “Nothin’ But The Truth,” 1987.
