Sleepy Sunday, Vol. 32

OK, it’s no longer Sunday here in the Central time zone. It’s the wee hours of Monday.

But it’s still Sunday somewhere. California. Hawaii.

Today, Sleepy LaBeef, national treasure, covers a tune written by and first done by Tennessee Ernie Ford in 1951. Cab Calloway is among the many folks to have covered this tune. I’d like to hear that version. I’m not so sure about the Pat Boone and Rosemary Clooney versions.

Sleepy recorded this on June 3, 1979, at Singleton Sound Studio in Nashville.
